My friend and I at work started talking and discovered we were both HUGE fans of Mechwarrior games back in the day. I know Mechwarrior died out years ago, so is there any good games similar to it out there now (with modern graphics)?

(PC only please.... no consoles)

After MechWarrior 3 it fizzled (if it wasn't already), there was mech4 but.. who played that? Now I really want to.

Microsoft offed FASA, the developers of MechWarrior, so we're not likely to see anything on those lines soon.

I haven't had much seat time, but battlefield 2142 had some gigantic robot action.

Other than that, I think you might need to learn Japanese.

but walkers on bf2142 are too easy to kill, and they are such big targets

I second the bit about learning Japanese...

As for Mechwarrior... that was some fun times...

There was another one around that time called Project Gnome or some such... big mechs killing everything.

Mechwarrior 4 is fun until you finish the campaign, and by that point you've pretty much exhausted all the game has to offer.
