What does everyone think thats played it? Did it run well on your setups? I thought i might have issues but it played fine on mine at 1920 x 1200 high settings Win Xp. Wonder if the Direct x 10 version is that much different other than more things being destructable. I think this is one game that single player will be more fun than mp. The graphics look great! Its still early though with 2 months to go before we all are playing it. Some tweaks are needed still. Any thoughts and how does it run and what res...

umm.. on another thread about this it said there was an NDA agreement or something, but doesn't that make that screen illegal? or is that a different beta or something
can we get more screenshots because i dont want to look at the ones from ign since iv already seen them.. like some of in the water, the forests, some explosions u know the like etc
also how is the game playing is it fun lol?? is there anything you dont like about the game or anything you think is important at all?
Well the gameplay is fast and its a tad quircky but its a beta to be expected. I cant believe it runs on max settings either, also I just downloaded the frontlines, fuel of war beta and maxed it out and it runs great as well. So those of you thinking you need a GTX or Ultra or 2 of them to play Crysis will be happy to know you dont need em to play high settings. Thats not to say every configuration will run like this, lots of factors to consider. anyhow I would like to see some feedback of other peoples results with it and post pics as well..

There is a way to turn on fps in the beta, it requires editing a cfg file though. No doubt the game looks good, but it is yet to be optimized and a few of the high and NONE of the very high textures are even in game yet...Some people may watch this and say it's not pretty enough because THIS is not what they want the public to see and I'm sure a lot of other beta testers feel this way too.
I played it for the first time last night on my new system (8800GTX and Q6600 with 2GB ram) using Windows Vista 64Bit Ultimate. The beta runs fine with all the settings at high (not ultra high as the beta does not allow these settings) but even with the high settings the game looks very sweet. Not sure if it’s using DirectX10 but I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t be. The settings I play with has everything set to high plus 4x AA and 16x AF at 1680X1050, it feels like I am getting about 35FPS in the heavy bits so I guess it’s running very well. This being a beta game I would not be surprised if the drivers for vista and the game work much better in the future.
As for game play… it’s SWEET!!
Loving it to bits you will have to play it.

cafuddled: have you looked at the cpu activity during the game ? I wonder if using a quadcore really makes a difference. I used a c2d and both cores are fully used during the game.
btw, in case some of you didnt know yet you can have "very high" settings in the beta just by changing the "game" CFG file. Just put 4 instead of 3 for these:
I played a little bit more of Crysis on the weekend, also played a fair bit of the Quake Wars demo too. After playing them both, even though Crysis is still in beta I would defiantly say it is the better game. They both work on the same grounds but Quake Wars is more like a clone of Battle Field than anything else, still good but nothing to write home about. While Crysis actually reminded me more of Command & Conquer Renegade than anything else.
But don’t get me wrong the game is not as tame as Renegade, it is much more complex and in-depth than that game could have ever have been. Like Renegade, in Crysis you can indeed buy tanks and vehicles to dominate the other team if you control the War Factory that is. You also have to buy weapons and equipment at spawn points just like you need to in Counter Strike.
The game does not stop there though, it not only delivers the best bits out of a load of different games it also adds a few extras too. For instance once you get near the end of the game and one team has control of the prototype facility as well as the power plant points you are able to drop nuclear warheads on the map. Now to say they look extremely cool would be a crime, they look much better than that. But I can’t help but think once I see one go off on the map that… they are just not destructive enough. I am sure there is some excuse made up for why they are only little mini nukes but a little more devastation would have been nice.
All in all the game is great though, and all the little bits make is one of the best multiplayer experiences I have ever had, my girl friend even caught me saying “sweet” and “**** hell” which I never do when playing games anymore.

Im playing this came on a C2D 2.4 ghz
1gb ddr 667 ocz
and a gtx 7800 oc.
I play at 1900 by 1080 i believe, with all my details set to low. The game runs really well, very smoothly.
theyve done a really good job optimizing everything...
Aside from graphics, the game is alot of fun to play.
I find it to be a mix of counter strike/battlefield/and alien vs. predator.
My only complaints of the game play- regarding power strugle- is that it can be very difficult to coordinate with your team.
I see this game of more as a team death match, type of game, maybe even capture the flag would work much better then power strugle.
still though, lots of fun to play, good graphics, very well optimized.
Also for those of you playing on vista, according to the beta forums DX10 support is not implemented in this beta yet.... So everything youre seeing is Dx9.

Played the game some more last night, it really is much better than Battle Field is my first thought. But my second is that it still needs some work. I finally got to launch a nuke for the first time last night… I got kicked for team killing too many people I know why it is only a small (I say small but it’s not that bad) explosion now. But I will leave that up to you to all find out
But yes my final thoughts are the multiplayer is great but still needs some work to bring it up to scratch.

Hey guys any chance you could post that screenshot using something besides photobucket? I have an annoying internet filter and it won't let me view it (it doesn't like photobucket or youtube or anything like that.)
Is anyone running the beta on an HD2900XT?
