My rig is
X2 6000+ at 3.2 Ghz
EVGA 8800 GTS 640 at 550/1700
WD Raptors 150 Gb x 2 on Windows Xp
XFI sound
Gateway 24" 1920 x 1200 DVI-D
2Gb Gskill DDR2 Ram
Thermaltake Toughpower 750W Ps
Antec case 5 fans

This is only the beta and there are some tweaks that will be added in the next 2 months, but it seems you dont need a Monster system to run this game. Those of you worried about not being able to play with a medium mainstream rig should be fine at some lower settings. I average around 40 fps at these settings and the latest Nvidia driver For Sep 07. I havent heard much on the Vista version yet, there are some out there that said it runs fine Ive run into. So far so good. Hope this helps some of you doubters out there worried you wont be able to play it.

what res are these taken at?

I'd love to be able to write something up on this beta but it has an NDA. :(

We'll be doing a lot of coverage of Crysis as soon as we can, though.

Damn Soldier your 8800 GTS is killing my X1900XTX, lol I am running @ 1680x1050 no AA and medium to low settings @ ~30 FPS with the newest ATI Drivers on XP. I want a system that will run it at my res with 4x AA and all settings on high in DX10 @ 60 FPS though...hopefully this will happen when I get my new vid card around X-mas time. lol

AA is not available in the beta unless you force it via your vid card's control panel, keep that in mind...the screens u are seeing unless he forced AA are without AA of any kind

Reply to macadami

This is true, I have 8x AA and 8x AF on in the nvidia control panel.

Why not lower you resolution? I'm sure you'll get much more fps this way and you might be able to crank up the settings.
I don't understand why some people would rather play on a high resolution with low settings, than play on a lower resolution with high settings. Either way you're sacrificing visual quality, but you're sacrificing even more to play on that resolution.
On a lower resolution, the only thing you'll notice is a bit of reduced sharpness and you get to crank up the settings with a boost in your fps.
On a higher res, on the other hand, it will be a bit sharper, but when playing on low to get decent fps, you will notice all the low settings and lack of visuals even more (i.e hideous textures, effects, etc...).
This is the same reason, IMO, PS2 games (at the time) used to look much better on the PS2 than on PC. On the PC you could easily see all the muddy textures, and the inconsistencies in their quality, whereas on the PS2, since the game didn't look as sharp, you couldn't notice all that.

Not running full res on an LCD makes games look terrible, not just unsharp, but flat out hard to see and gives me a headache. Higher res does more than just make it looks sharp it also adds greater detail, but also text is very difficult to read in alot of cases on an LCD not running full res. If I had a CRT then I would probably just run it @ like 1024x768 even if it were a 24" monitor and it wouldnt be so bad, but on my 20" LCD if im anything under full res there are problems. I am not rendering at a point to where my detail itself looks flushed or because I run my shaders and shadows on medium which is the most important visual part (if you dont believe me run high detail on everything and then run your shaders and shadows on low and she switch it and you will know what I am talking about). I keep some post effects and physics options on a lower setting in order to make sure that my frames dont drop dramaitcally during a fight with someone. Believe me...I look for best visual quality to frames performance with about 2 hours of testing before I every jump in and play a game...it means alot to me!

Yeh running at your native lcd panel resolution in my case 1920 x 1200 looks fantastic, but changing it to any other res doesnt work for me and looks terrible! I'll take the 40 fps and play it where its at.

Still cant wait for possibly a beta release to everyone. Gotta love this game :d

Me personally playing at a low res of 1280/720 and tbh I dont like it at all I have to use forced AA most of the time tog et decent picture quality otherwise onmy 27inch I got lines everywhere, new monitor will have 1600x1050, still going to use 4x AA though for perfect picture, cant wait.

Soldier37 how do you do it! I have very similar setup, lower res screen (1400 x 900) at which i get an average of about 25 Frames a second (without AA or AF forced)

I really must be missing somthing to be getting frames this much lower!

im aiming for a 640, but I may end up waiting or getting a 320 or this apparently freakishly cheap 2900

I have another thread asking whats wrong with it, since it seems about £50 cheaper than all the others on that site or any other
