Is there anyway to force battle field 2142 to run in 2048x1024, the top end res. of my monitor?

At the moment I'm running in 1024x768 on a 8800GTS. Not really getting my moneys worth in terms of quality, FPS are up though, but i got them clamped by the V-sync anyway (75Hz).

Any pearls?

look in some of the widescreen gaming forums and sites (theres one major one, google it, I can't recall it right now) there are fixes/patches/hacks to make it work widescreen so you can probably get up to 1600x1050ish, they might be able to go bigger too.

What monitor do you have? it sounds like a dual monitor setup, which I doubt 2142 would be god with as your aiming point would be on the split.

its a single display, random brand, does 2048x1024 max @ 75Hz

thanks, i think i found the site: widescreengamer.com

unfortunately no joy with tinkering with the resolutions from the properties menu. Just loads and then closes again.

never mind

I do seem to recall that 2142 and Bf2 are very similar when it comes to widescreen... so that previous link might work.

I tried the line:

+szx 2048 +szy 1024

after the: "+fullscreen 1" command but just did as i mentioned above.

also tried the same commands with "+widescreen 1" and same effect.

Think I'll invest in a widescreen monitor, I'll check out the monitor/display forums in a bit.....
