No no quad here, but I wish! It takes forever to upload a video on photobucket if its over 10mb in size so I kept it short to get it posted. I dont know how else to show my system other than take a pic of my internal parts, lol. No reason to lie and post false info, im trying to let people know you dont need the latest system to run this game. Obliviously you do need a descent setup to run it on all high settings. But you dont need a GTX or even 2 to run it. My GTS 640 does just fine.

hmm i dont mean to doubt you but after reading a ton of posts about people with 2900xt cards and q6600's only able to run medium high with low aa i am having a hard time accepting you can run totally max with max aa and everything

and also remember this is dx9 only so the ultra option isnt available and the physics and everything etc

you are correct, I have Vista here next to me. But want to wait till its alot more bug free before I mess with it again. I couldnt shoot tree branches down in this version I noticed. But it still looks great on Xp. I may switch to Vista by Novmeber for full version of the game.

I remember reading somewhere, the game scales back 2 years and AHEAD 1.5, so maybe itll be 1.5 years till we see playable max settings lol..

Still looks nice..4 more days..

depends what you mean by "max settings" because resolutions of 1280x1024 I expect a gtx to handle max straight off (bar maybe 16x aa) but at 2560x(I cant remember) it will prob not be possible

soldier: what's your resolution ?
I have a c2d@ 3.4ghz, 2go DDR2, p5k Deluxe, 8800 Ultra overclocked (670/1150) and i can say the game is really choppy at times (30-40 fps @ res 1600*1200 with max settings and AA x4). Runs great on 1280*1024 though but i'm more pessimistic than you regarding users with older rigs.

1920 x 1200..if you have a Ultra and that cpu with 2gb and get choppy results it sounds like a driver issue, with that setup and that res you should be smoking at more than 30 - 40 fps?? All I can say is make sure you have the latest nvidia driver. Or maybe you need a fresh OS install as painful as that is.

I have the latest drivers but sure my hard disk would need some cleansing. But still i'm surprised you can get such a nice framerate with a slightly less good rig (not that i'm doubting your sincerity :) )

Reply to drakh

I will post the fraps counter and video of it this afternoon at my settings..

I have Athlon 6000, 8800 gts, and 2 gig of memory and get an average of about 27fps at 1400 x 900.

What drivers are you using soldier37? (im using nvidia 163.71 beta)

Reply to MadDave

Yes same drivers, im getting low 18 to 38 high so it does fluctuate alot. I never slows down for me though its smooth every time i play at my res 1920 x 1200 all high settings.
