I am really bad at giving and estimating prices for things..so I turn to the experts!
A friend is trying to sell a PC with 19" monitor. What should his asking price be?
All help is appreciated. here are the components...

Lite-On 20X DVD Burner Retail
Thermaltake M9 case W/Window (VI1000BWS)

Is this something you a building for someone or is it your PC you are selling? If yours how old is the PC?

Anytime I sell used stuff I usually do it around 50% of what retail is going for now.

It isn't mine, it is a friends. And it is about 2 weeks old,if that. He knew what he wanted in it ,just didn't know how to assemble it. That's where I came in. But he needs to sell it and was wondering what he should ask for it. And that's where I lack. So again all feedback is appreciated.

I would say 60-75% of currently retail price for parts & 85-90% on the monitor. Would really help if you had all orginal boxes.

IMO PCs are ALOT like New cars. Once off the lot the price drop HUGE!!!

I do have all retail boxes. Nothing was OEM. Everything has manuals, the video card has the Neverwinter Nights 2, the memory came with Vantage. Neither of which has ever been opened.

I think you can get a good 750 because it's used, but you could try for more. You definitely need to OC the CPU. The videocard should be OCed already so just leave that.

I am buying a new gaming rig in a couple weeks that is almost identical to your friends build, except i am going 4 gig of ram, 64 bit vista, e8400 and 22 inch monitor for $1050(lots of sales and rebates). $750 does sound about right, but, i think you might have to take a little less since most people buying a $750 almost brand new machine may be looking for a quad 6600 or e8400.

So 750.00 with the monitor is fair?
