I need HELP BAD

I just bought an Asus Mobo P4b533-E And a Maxtor Diamond 40G Hd with ATA 133.I can't get the mobo to see the HD in Raid or regular IDE.Any suggestions??? I tried EVERYTHING
I've been at it for 4 hours now

Ok I know i'm an a$$ and should have read up more on Raid,lol...Anyway I got the mobo to see the HD finally.Maybe it would have helped to set the jumper to disable raid about 4 hours ago,grrrrrrrrrrrrr
