Asus P2B-DS new HD Help!

I'm adding a Hard Drive to my Asus P2B-DS MB and am having trouble getting past the System Config screen. The computer sees the HD fine on the boot screen but stops at the capacity for the drive on the system config screen.

The HD I'm adding is a Maxtor 80GB 7200RPM. It's being added as a Primary slave drive.

Previous to this HD I had a Quantum 60GB 7200RPM HD working fine on this MB.

I would really like to get this drive to work on this MB. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

do you have Asus's latest BIOS installed?

I have BIOS 1012b installed. The latest is 1013. The docs for 1013 mention support for coppermine b or somehting like that. Doesn't seem like anything that will help me with the HD.

Plus I tried to flash the BIOS and couldn't get past the making of a bootable floppy from a command prompt. I'm using WinXP. Seems nothing is working for me currently.
