Ok heres the problem. I have a ATX case with the usual wirings. I have a new mobo that has some cryptic listings for the front end panels. Let me try to show you what is on the mobo.
* = A pin

1 ****
2 *****

Underneath is:

ACPILED PWBT
+HDLED- Rst

Thing is, there are 3 connects with 2 spaces for pins, and the last had 3 spaces. I've figured out where the HD Led goes, but where do the rest go?>

Please, i beg you, help me ASAP.

Im guessing:
ACPILED = Power LED
PWBT = Power Button
RST = Reset Button


You dont have an <b>ANY</b> key? Your keyboard must not be Windows XP certified...

The mother board manuals usually have pinout charts which give much more detail, and would help you.

Ok, I've gotten the power button to work, it was PWBT. So now this is how it is set up.

2 ****
1 *****

Pins 1 and 3 are for HD LED. 6 and 8 are for the power button. I've tried sticking the other two in the empty spaces and it's not working.

I did check the manual but I think it was typed wrong. It wants me to place a connector on both 6 and 7 at the same time.

Some of these connectors are sensitive to polarity. You may have to 180 their positions. Yes...it`s more confusing than it needs to be for sure.
