It probably means something. The fact that they put a higher priority
on "lead game designer" credit on a AAA game (apparently doesn't
matter if it was a sports, RTS, racing, Sims, etc. title rather than
something related to Diablo) than on expertise with the genre
indicates they are probably looking for someone who will make D3 worse
than D2, just as WC3 is worse than StarCraft.
