Ok so Battlefield 2142 has been out for a while now and I'm still playing it. It probably has the most interest to me out of any game I own since its multiplayer online and has more then just point and shoot to it. I like that you can build rank and get unlocks as well as badge/ribbon/ etc. So I'm sitting as a Major Silver right now with a good amout of silver badges. Any suggestions on how to build points or certain things to shoot for that will help? I seem to be stuck as now my badges require 30 titan attack/defend scores, 55 teamwork points, and other higher numbered objectives that I can not seem to reach. I am also knife and explosively retarded as I do not have even a Bronze badge for either. Any help would be awesome.

I know some people do not like Battlefield or EA for that matter. Keep my post positive and not negative.

If you are only worried about your ranks I know there are some servers you can find that are knife only servers. You can find the same for pistols and explosives.

Hey I can help here! Yay!

OK, knifing is a toughie, one I was only working on myself before my DVD was wrecked, but generally you can do both explosives and knifing while defending a titan. Knife involves getting in a game where the enemy is attacking a solid defense. Jump up from your landing bay and knife them from behind. You'll die lots, but you'll also kill quite well.

Explosives, work on your Recon and/or Assault for the purposes of Demo Packs, Claymores (oh so beautiful), and the Rocket Launcher. Literally camp a corridor with another dedicated medic and a support. You'll rack up kills in no time. It is a struggle to practice though, but I like defense a lot. Patience is also important (know when to detonate the det packs, where to place claymores, etc.)

Failing that, go to the specialised servers as noted above.

Just play for fun. If you play for ranks you'll find that you'll feel obligated and bored

You can titan attack points for taking out the guns in a titan, this can be done with a ground turret or with a rocket launcher , you'll know you hit it if your crosshair flases white for a second, similarly titan defense score is achieved by killing enemies in the titan (e.g. hide behind the lazer screen and pop out and kill people) or by repairding the turrets, just weld the bit which you get in to fire at the ground. Knifing is easier if you have the invisibility upgrade for recon. Pistol just takes practice tho the russian sides one is better imhho. Stuff like running people lover you either need to be awesome or have a mate stand still at his spawn but that's banned on most servers.

I don't necessarily play for rank as I do to get badges and ribbon. I find it challenging to get some of them, I am just stuck on a few. I will try a knife server and see what happen. Thanks for the tips. Any certain maps better for mowing people over with vehicles?

... well if you get reset you can try and try again!

Or you could just work at it, for titan attack/defend, it took me half a dozen rounds to finally be able to get each (defend was easier, using clays + RDX), attack, I can't remember, it was probably something similar, let enemies trip over clays.

55 teamwork was another pain, I got 52, 53 and 54 so many times! Titan defense, support, assault would probably be almost as good, just make sure you revive no matter the cicumstance. Supplying noobs with endless nades is probably easiest.

Knifing is just too easy, I got my 17 knife kills before the first flag was capped on Cerbere.

Titan destruction was tricky, had to switch teams because everyone on my team started to attack titan when I had 2 cores destroyed, when our shield went down, I switched teams and destroyed 2 of the consoles and took out the core (there was like only one other guy attacking with me and he was on teamspeak with me).

The various kit specific awards are easy enough, 30 kills is not hard to do.

Mowing people down with vehicles.. Tunis was easiest for me, for some reason 3/4 of the enemy team were against a wall, I went right into them, reversed, their medics started reviving without shooting me, I squashed them all again lol.
