Got a new motherboard, Asus P4PE, got everything hooked up and when I turn power on nothing at all happens...no beeps, nothing. The fans come on and thats it. You guys think the motherboard is a DOA? Any suggestions? Thanks.

It appears to have something to do with the Radeon 9700 Pro...anyone else see this?

I have a asus P4PE with P4 2.4g cpu, 533 fsb, 512m pc 2700 ram and gf4 ti4200 video card. When I tried my old gf2 mx video card in the P4PE it also wouldnt power up. There is a red led on the board which lights up when an improper video card is used. Perhaps the P4PE doesnt like the Radeon 9700 Pro because it is 8x AGP. Try emailing asus.

Hello Stoner. You really need to read the FAQ before you jump to conclusions. Most likely cause for "no boot" would be a grounded circuit or a reversed IDE cable. Most likely causes for "no video" would be inadequate power supply or the extra 4-pin video power cable not installed.

Crashman, you need to not assume that I didn't read the FAQ before you jump to conclusions!!! I did and checked that it isn't being grounded and I have a 325 Watt power supply. As far as reversed IDE cables they are all keyed so rule that out and the power IS connected to to the video board. In the end, I did a RMA on the board to get a new one.

And you had a power cable hooked to the card?
