For all the americans here who may not have an iphone yet... bestbuy now has them.

and the funny thing is that they have them advertised at the discounted price w\ no mention of any kind of sign up required. by best buys own policy, printing this page and bringing it in to buy an iphone should force them to sell it to you for $200-8gb or 300-16gb since their policy is to match prices....

you cant just advertise something on your website for $200 and then when somebody comes into the store be like... oh, well its only for new att customers... you will need to pay $600 instead for the same phone...

unfortunately, at best buy and on there handouts and probably somewhere on this page its got an extra page of things you need to fulfill (2 year contract) but yes, you can buy it for 600 or 700$

they added the *small print to the website.

I'm wondering if , and how many people tried buying an iphone and if any were successful in making them honor their advertisement.

I think the whole 3g iphone marketing is a sham.... they openly talk about half price this, half price that... how can they get away with doing that.. idk.

Luckily my upgrade was in july so i got a 16gb white iphone for $325, whereas i saw people buying them on ebay for up to 1500

its not a sham, they used to be 400, now there 200 (for the 8GB)
but what is really funny is that the data package for ATT is 20$ for all phones but the iphone, its 30$
so that 200$ you save really turns into 240$ extra you are paying over 2 years. kinda funny
best deal is to open new accuont, buy phone then cancel and pay 175$ ETF and then get whatver plan you want + sell the phone you get for free (paid 50$ for blackjack 2, got 200)

so yeh theres way to get it cheaper, i duno if you can use the 12% off coupon from best buy on the phone though. if i get one im getting the 32GB that was just added yesturday (new SKU) or if they make the battery life decent, either one and im happy. or the G1 which could be better
