I can copy music using Windows Media 9 ok, but when I try to copy data to a
blank cd I get an errror saying the cd must write protected and the cd cannot
be formatted. I have made sure the autoformat box is checked on the cd drive
in Properties. This happens with all new disks.
Thanks for any help

Just curious - did you get CD or DVD/CD copying software with the CD drive, or
with the computer when you bought it? I think you need CD copying software to
do what you want to do, not just trying to use XP's copy commands. That
bargain CD drive doesn't look like such a bargain now... Look on your HD
maybe you have the software...
