Start with $25, to attract bidders. Fair price would be around $40-50. Once the bidding starts, buyers tend to get very competitive and raise the stakes (my observation).

Agreed. It was a long time ago, but one time I sold a ATI 9000 Pro (AGP) video card for $70. At the time, the thing was honestly worth about $20-30, but a bidding war started and bumped it all the way to $70. In stores, the card was selling for about $50 new and this was used. LOL.
