i will describe it best i can ..

it was like vga graphics
early 90's (~92-94~)
was shareware
you were an airplane
you attacked as the screen scrolled top to bottom
many levels and varying maps as you went
your weapons where like machine guns starting out but there where upgrades along the way like spread fire etc.
i think when you started there were like four rectangles that revealed the start of the game

Raptor ???

Raptor is a shooting games that you are the plane. You get different health, shield and weapons while you play. You get credits too. When you finish a level, with your credits you can buy weapons and shield.

The enemy was such alien planes, ground enemy such tanks and building with canon.

Yes it is Raptor, thanks a ton .. I was really craving this one for some reason -- Best 2D aerial shooter i've ever came across and the upgrades and mods keep it very interesting

Screw crysis, finally a game that I can get a decent frame rate

late to reply... but try astromenace. Good for linux and windows i think. Great free shooter like that... only it's up to date... and don't feel like less of a gamer if you have to turn down the difficulty, I couldn't get past the 4th level forever on hard settings. :-p
