mouse + keyboard vs controller

What one is better? and is it possible to have a ps3 controll on pc or is it only the xbox controller?

FP Shooters/RTS/Action/RPGs:

Mouse and Keyboard.

Adventure/Racing:

Controllers.

I believe you need an adapter for the PS3 controller, but I'm not sure. I'd rather get the X360 controller because Microsoft is supporting it as an official PC gaming solution.

Count me in the camp that considers mouse/keyboard infinitely better, more comfortable, and more intuitive for FPS.

I like controllers better for sports and racing as well.

I played Bioshock hooked up to my TV using the PC xbox controller, controllers are great for roms hooked to the tv, my NES just doesn't work great half the time, so using the pc lol..
