i accidentally broke my warcraft III TFT CD, so now i can't play bnet even if i use a no cd crack..
any idea on how to play bnet without the CD? (i have the unique cd key so no worries)
i burned it in another cd before.. but i can't use it.
the autorun screen shows up then when i press "play warcraft 3..."
it says "Please verify that your frozen Throne disc is in your CD-ROM drive, then click on 'Retry'.
I had the same problem. My drive jammed the disc and scratched my War3TFT disc while opening.
Fortunately I had already saved a burned image using Alcohol 120% and was able to use that with daemon tools to play. The burned disc in the drive did not work, but the disc image in the virtual drive did.
Not promoting Alcohol it is just what I used. This here is a good reason backing up games should never be illegal. And to hell with anyone in the game industry saying otherwise.
Don't know what you can do without the original. Borrow a copy to burn a proper image that works with daemon tools(or whatever program works) Good luck.
P.S. anybody else ever have a drive do this?? can't remember if it was LiteOn or NEC.
i have a backup image of the original cd too.. it still doesn't work..
it still says "Please verify that your frozen Throne disc is in your CD-ROM drive, then click on 'Retry'. when i use daemon tools... should i enable something from daemon tools to make it work?
Daemon Tools does need emulation on I believe(unless you have a very well burned copy in the original drive, not many drives can do this i think)
So you pretty much need to use an image. I just right click on its icon and under emulation select "all options on." Works for me. Also possible you may have a bad image. What program did you use to create the image from the disc? Were the settings correct? I believe war3tft uses a version of Securom copy protection. 4.something if i remember correctly.
