For Chrismas i want to buy a new mouse for my computer.
I was looking for a gaming mouse and i found the G5 Logitech mouse. But then i saw there are 2 different types of G5s:
The one with rusty kinda look
G5 rusty And the blue one
G5 blue
but the only difference i can find is the vista compatibility, and that's the problem i have Vista Home Premium 64-bit and i want the mouse to work correctly but don't has to cost a lot.
I have about 100 dollars/70 Euros from my grandmother for my chrismas present (i pay with euros)
I have the G5 thats "Rusty" and i wish i had the blue cracks one. The rust one doesn't have a forward button. But a laser mouse is the way to go.
There is NO VISTA INCOMPATIBILITY. you don't need drivers for these mice. they auto detect with Vista and just work once plugged in.
The Logitech VXNano is a good Wireless gaming mouse for laptops and wireless in general. i have one myself and love it. Although it is very expensive depending were you buy it. You do need Drivers to utilize all the buttons on it on a Mac, but it makes Mac OS 9 & 10 crash while drivers are installed.
EDIT: The blue one has resistance to grease and gunk build up. (If that matters)

I still love my Microsoft Intellimouse Optical 1.1 usb mouse.... It's old school but the extra side buttons are BIG and you never miss a beat with them. Set them to Crouch and Prone and you are all set.

I use Logitech MX518 gAMMING mouse and is very simmila to G5 "rust" but with only 1800dpi and hano no weights, still works wonderfull especialy on games on i can ajust the mice sensability at any time at any game, with two buttons, really helps you change from a tank to a sniper lol.

I got the rusty G5 last week when I was looking at the cracked blue G5. They were on sale. I like the blue color but the cracked look didnt appeal to me. I saw the rusty one as an open boxed item. BestBuy had it combined with a $10 gift card so I got it for $44. It has the one button but it doesnt matter to me since I constantly accidently hit the foward button at times. At least with the one button on the side, i cant possibly hit it by accident. My computer detected it automatically and Logitech's support page to download the drivers and Setpoint was easy and no issues. This is a great mouse. So much better than my dynex optical mouse. The week before I saw the G15 gaming keyboards on a clearance sale---priced at $71 for $19. I grabbed one! Heck even a few of the Bestbuy employees who I stopped and asked if this was a mistake said that they were grabbing the keyboard because they were shocked!
One thing though, does the laser light up, I turn my mouse over and see no light.
