on board sound/network?

hi all-

i'm planning to get an ASUS P4PE/L motherboard with [see below]. a friend of mine says that i should be concerned about the on-board sound/network. i figure that i can always buy my own components if i need to but that most likely these will be sufficient. does anyone have any experience/insight into this?

also, comments on the setup below are welcomed.

thanks.

More about board sound network
  1. Personally, unless it's just real staticy or something, I could care less about the sound. Anything is good enough for me...

As for LAN, unless you are wanting GB or something, Ethernet is Ethernet.

And if it's not....you can always get the PCI card later.

    Perfectly thought out.

  3. As long as it works Lan is Lan, most of todays onboard sound is pretty good, go for it.
