I got a set of recovery disks from a xe783 I would like to use to
install Windows ME onto an HP Vectra VL. Is it possible to use these
disks on other hp computers?

Rob,
the hp recovery disks are model specific . they look for a bios tattoo
that identifies the model . they probably only work for models with
the same motherboard . you may need to get a copy of windows and
download the drivers you need.
good luck,
terry
