New MainBoard HELP!!

Hi All......been reading THG for quite a while but, just joined!!!

I preparing to build my own second convergence system....
Convergence to me is my computer is the focal point of my Home Theater acting as a playback/storage device for all music/ video's.
The First:
A7V133, AMD 1700, 512MB Kingmax 150Mhz Ram, ATI Radeon 8500,ATI TV Wonder, Hollywood Plus Mpeg Card, Turtle Beach Santa Cruz, 2 Western Digital 800JB's, Lite On 40x12x48,Matshita(Panasonic) 8586 DVD, Antec 300Watt PS,Lian Li Case
The Second...
Mainboard?, CPU?,RAM 512MB DDR400(Brand?),ATI AIW 8500DV, Stereo-Link DAR to handle 2 Channel(Purchased), Sigma Designs X Card,2 Western Digital 200GB w/8MB Cache, Lite On 48X24X48,Matshita 8586 DVD(Current), Antec SL 350 True Power PS, Lian Li Case

Should I wait for the ASUS A7N8X has on board 5.1 and the great 2nd generation nViadia chipset(retail release soon) or even the AMD Claw Hammer CPU and related mainboards release date????

All feedback on mainboard/CPU/RAM or even any of my related components....greatly appreciated!

Hammer is still quite far away, But Nforce is close enough to smell it!

it's your call. the sound on Nforce2 should be great, as the sound on the first was real good,

Would go with at least DDR333 on both systems, not just one. And XP 2000+ on both. Nice systems though!

Any clue on the availibility of the nVidia2 boards?? I read reviews on the ASUS & Chaintech both retail packaged. Thanks

The asus nforce2 board is on ETA for Nov. 13, 2002 at MarkOneComputers.com. That will be the first board available. But not always good to get the first thing out.

Agreed usually need to work out the kinks in the BIOS. FYI I read a strong review on the A7N8X at.......
