Continental Promotion Group, Inc., one of the nation's larger rebate processing companies, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection this past Friday. Founded in 1989, CPG handles mail-in rebates for various home entertainment and home improvement companies, including Home Depot and Canon. CPG is responsible for processing rebate claims and mailing checks on their behalf. However, the company reportedly lacks the funds needed to fulfill its rebate requests and has filed for bankruptcy protection. huh.... so be weary of the lures of a $35 MIR i guess.
Lots of people bash rebates but i've had pretty good luck w\ all of mine being accepted and paid. But i guess you'd need people doing the processing to get paid.

I've forgotten a few rebates, but I've also had some great deals.
$5 1 gig micro SD and SD cards at frys were both free.
Recent 120mm 4 copper heat pipe cpu cooler will be $10 after rebate.
I think it's best to wait for rebates on stuff you want - so much cheaper that way. Just make sure to get a warranty if it's still fairly expensive, as cutting the UPC from the box usually means you can't return it.
