Hi
My computer keeps restarting. I am running XP Pro. It happens at all
different times. I've checked the power options, internet options etc. but
cannot find any reason why it is doing this. Does anyone know how I can fix
this problem? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks. Julie

Hi Julie,

Is there an error message or does the system just suddenly restart?
Start/run eventvwr.msc, see if there are any corresponding events in the
system and application logs.

If there are, then we can research the error codes or create a .dmp file and
look at it. If not, then your system may be overheating. Many motherboards
will shutdown/restart if the cpu or other component overheats. It may
already be damaged as well. Increasing ventilation can help if the system is
not damaged.

Thanks Rick, I'll pass this on to my friend Julie and we'll have a look.
