Difference between DOA4 and DOA4 Platinum Hits?

I notice there was a diference between Dead or Alive 4 and Dead or Alive 4 Platinum Hit in the back of both game boxes. The Platinum Hits says the game can be played up to 1080p while the original DOA4 says it be played up to a max of 1080i. Has the game actually been updated since becoming a Platinum Hit to 1080p? And does this mean the original DOA4 cannot be played in 1080p? Thanks!
