trouble with my 360 on a monitor

/I am using my 360 on my 19"LCD which has inputs for coax, rca, component, vga, and vi.

Currently I'm using the component cables since they came with the 360 but the dashboard only says it's at 480p

Now, I'm assuming that my monitor will do 720p so I'm looking at getting the vga cables IF they will do 720p.

Also, my monitor only has a 3.5 connector for audio input with the vga port. Does the microsoft cable come with a 3.5 audio connector?
