Hey everyone,
I haven't upgraded my computer in about 2 years, so now its time!! With the release of the nForce2 I really have no idea what to do. I was originally going to get a p4 3ghz processor (it should be out before january, right?)when it came out but now it seems like the I may want to go with the nforce2 and an AMD processor. I really liked AMD but it doesn't seem like they are keeping up with intel. I currently have a radeon 8500 in my computer and I was thinking to upgrade to a 9700 pro, however, I read that the 9700 is VERY buggy with chipsets.... If I want this upgrade to last a while should I get the nforce2 mobo and a AMD althon or should i go with intel? If intel, which chipset is the best?
THanks a lot in advance!!!

EPoX is the best!!!!!

The p4 3.06 will work fine, but do you really want to spend $700 for the cpu alone? For agp 8x, I would check out the gigabyte 8sg667 combined with the 2.4b p4. Both will run you about $300 shipped. Another board to consider is the asus p4pe, if you want more features. The athlon xp will be replaced by the hammer before the end of next year, but is still a good combo with the nforce 2 boards. If in doubt, I would wait for nforce pricing before finalizing your purchase. I would also keep your 8500 for awhile and let the price of the 9700 come down some more.
