Hello This only happens once in the game but when I play the first SAS mission on the boat I get a one second lock up on the same place on the stairs everytime? What causes this

Does this game require Steam? I see it as a possible Steam download but ever since I got my new graphics card, I can't log into Steam anymore.

Steam is a platform for downloading games. Unfortunately you have to be "online" to play certain games like Half-Life 2 which for life of me why be online?

imo steam was partly made to combat piracy (requiring online activation even if you only want the single player), and sell stuff.
