Hey all,

My system is as follows...

C2D e6320 4mb 1.86ghz @ 3.01 ghz (about 430x7)
abit fp-in9 sli
4gb geil ddr2800 5-5-5-18
8800gtx @ stock
550w psu

Can you guys see any bottlenecks there? Any tips for improving performance on this system?

Cheers

What monitor size/resolution are you running Crysis in? If it's too high, with too high of a texture resolution, then I'd immediately suspect the 8800GTX regardless if it's a GTX or not.

So what res you doin' it in?

My monitor is a 20" Samsung widescreen (1680x1050 native). Ideally I'd run it in native but that's a bit slow so I'm reduced to running a non-native 1024x768, or 1280x960 but to be honest the improvement in fps isn't that great and obviously these non-native resolutions look terrible.

I've gotta admit I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to graphical settings and Crysis is winding me up - just can't seem to get the right balance of performance/quality! Might have to stick another GTX in there!

Good grief you guy. I played Crysis on an AMD3800 with 7800GT's in SLI at 1024 x 768. It ran fine on medium settings. You're good to go with your hardware. The game is actually pretty good with moderate hardware if, if, if, you don't go crazy with resolution. I have a CRT, which is far more foregiving than the current LCD's (interpolated resolutions can look poor) and I can optimize game settings pretty easily.

My friend has the same setup and the setting she runs are full res 1680x1050 with 2x AA and all high settings. He runs 30 - 40 fps, which in crysis is PERFECTLY playable. The game runs smooth at FPS even lower than that...lol believe me I would know. You could even turn of the AA and you wouldnt lose much visual quality and everything would still look amazing...I dont think you have anything to worry about.

Best,

Yeah I don't think you'll have any problems - do I detect a hint of sarcasm there? :)
