I think this might help both myself and some of the other readers if you all tell us which motherboard company regurarly puts out top-quality boards with little or no problems with them, so we can have a good starting point when we look for boards. I'm personally going to be getting an nforce2 chipset board here in a couple of months, but overall, which manufacturers would you buy from and/or shy away from. Thanks.
Will Gigabyte make nForce2 board? You know, they turned their way from nVidia on graphic card market to ATI and now would they want to go back to nVidia again? (This guy wants info on nForce2 mobo manufacturer)
I almost totally agree with your list........but, I will never(well almost never) use Asus because of their lack of a decent "end-user" tech support(I hear they have great oem tech support). Still Asus may be the best made Mobo's. I would also like to add Shuttle as the best no-frills, low budget mobo's & EPoX for the best Over-Clocking Mobo's.
I have never had a problem with MSI, Abit, EPoX, or Shuttle(well, just one bad bios chip-replaced after 1/2 hour on the phone with tech support-very easy). I have had problems with half of all the ECS mobo's that I have used, although I hear they are getting better(Asus plans to use them to build a Asus low-line of mobo's).
Like you said, all mobo maker's have been known to ship defects. A good brand, does not mean it is perfect.

I like MSI mobos for good performance, great stability and cheap price. I also like ASUS, but they are too expensive.

Currently I advice to get ASUS A7N8X if you have money or Leadtek's nForce2 if you are looking for value.
I am waiting to see MSI's offers

ASUS, has no end-user support and you have a point, but their website' support section is the best of all mobo makers.
On the other Hand, I'm not sure if it's related to high trafic or the region where I live but MSI's website is soooo slooowwww and when I need a driver I needs it now! that's an other side of user-support I value a lot.
About MSI, yes I too have had some problems when updating drivers or bioses using MSI's Live Update, but for the most part, Live Update has worked very well for me. I wish I knew who had the fastest bios updates(the developement of the new bios/drivers & releasing them to the public)?

I don't have any experience with Chaintech personally, but it looks like a good option for the nForce2 chipset. I figured I would add it to the list since I didn't notice it in any of the other posts here.
