just ordered round IDE / floppy cables by cooler master
question is , the hard drive / cd cables are 24 inches long
I notice that most ribbon cables are only 18in.
will there be a performance or stability issue ??

There shouldn't be any issues with longer IDE cables. The only 'issue' is you can now connect any drives because your cables are long enough.

Yo R,

Yes, there might be some issues. Round cables have had problems with fragile connectors & data corruption(this due to the fact that the wires are much closer each other & if there is a section of bad/cut insulation, they will most likely touch, instand of lined up side by side with the maximum of contact is just 3 wires. Some people have told me that the cables even run hotter, because of the additional round cover.........I don't believe that though.

Any benefit of the promise of better air flow, is bogus. I have not had one case run any cooler with round cables. All you need is a rubber band, to make flat cables flow just as good.

Peace Out...........tile

I wish my imaginary friends could give me better advice
