Is there a list of the "utilities"(?), with description of purpose and how to
use them, that can be executed thru the "Run" screen of the main menue ? Is
there more than just "regedit" or "drwtsn32" ?

What do they do? Try using "Search Microsoft.com for:" or Google.
Hope this helps.

My apologies, that's a list of command prompts ( Start > Run > cmd). I had a
list for Start > Run but can't seem to locate it. But yes there are more like
msconfig, chkdsk, cmd etc. You'll probably find more examples if you read
enough of the threads in the newsgroups.
