Guys, am having trouble with CoD4, basically it starts up ok but when the action heats up even a little bit the screen shudders/lags (in single player, not online). My system is as follows: (prob. too much info., but I'm not much of a techy):

Is there anyting obvious that might be my problem? could it be a monitor thing?

One fix for choppy graphics was going into to the graphics options and turning on the dual graphics cards option. (Do this even if you only have a single graphics card) See if that helps. You can also try disabling vsync.

If you're using a single-core AMD, that could be your problem. Especially if you're playing at lower resolutions. (1280x1024 or less) That is going to be a little more CPU reliant. Also, I really don't want to pick through all of that information to find what graphics card you have, so if you could just list that as well... What is your monitor? It could have a sluggish refresh rate, but I doubt this is the case.
