I have a pair of Xeon 1.7 DP workstation procs I would like to deploy. Am I stuck with the i860 motherboards for these (like the Tyan Thunder) or can I safely use these in a serverworks or E7500 chipset dual motherboard? I'm hoping to avoid having to buy RIMM memory, and the i860's are scarce and expensive. Thanks!

You can use them in Serverworks and E7XXX chipsets.

I'd need more info before I could suggest anything:
- onboard SCSI?
- onboard gigabit?
- onboard video?
- AGP?

I believe http://www.2cpu.com is the site you're looking for.

Thanks, JW! Server with IDE raid so no need for scsi or agp. gig nic option might be nice down the road for server farm cross-comm. Thinking of the Tyan Tiger i7500 - or is there anything cheaper? Thanks!
