Hi
I have a new DVD burner, so be kind to this "newbie"
I have scanned a few of our pics from the scanner and then loaded them to
DVD-RW's AND to DVD-R's (someone advised that for viewing on TV-- DVD
player, would HAVE to be on DVD-R's).
I am able to use the "slideshow" feature on the pc, but not on the tv DVD
player. Is there any way to pre-program the DVD to show slideshow? ... or, I
was thinking, when using on the tv DVD player, could the pics forward,
reverse, etc., be controlled by the remote control of the tv?
When I try to load the tv DVD player with the pics DVD, the tv DVD player
reports "No Disc".
How do I get it to recognize the DVD and to "play" it?
Also, when taking a CD that I recorded music from the pc on, and try to play
it on the CD Stereo, it ALSO says "No Disc" ???
Also, someone else advised me that I could use CD's for what I was planning
to do and not have to use the more expensive DVD''s? Is that true.??
------
Thanks for any assistance or suggestions.
Amber

CDs should be fine with music,is WMP9 series copying the tracks to a cd
or dvd,let it run the process then when thru, remove cd,reinstall, play back
on computer to verify. Most DVD home players wont let you play-back
jpegs, thata why a no disk is being displayed,(most DVD players).Go to the
mfg web site for details on the player.

I don't think this will hep much, but anyway:

Your DVD player must specifically state that it can play JPGs. Most of them
don't. As far as my stand-alone Sony DVD player, it says it'll play CD-R or
CD+R, but not JPGs. Some might even play DVD-RWs.

Any DVD player plays CDs as far as I know. IT must say it plays CD-Rs too if
you want to play recorded stuff you did, not just factory. Anything sold
nowadays, except maybe a $20 new one from Timbucktoo, should play DVD-Rs at
least too. And you are talking a CD player for music - which leads me to
believe it is ancient?? or a little portable one? So I am guessing, it must
say it can play CD-Rs. Otherwise it only will play factory CDs.. Go out and
buy a $45 DVD player to use as a CD player. Just make sure it plays CD-Rs
(like I said, I haven't seen any sold lately that do not). Spend a few more
bucks and find one that says it plays JPGs too.

...D.
