I currently have my game resolution set to 1280*1024, but it won't let me select anything higher. I have a 21" monitor with a native resolution of 1680*1050, but BF2 will not let me select this resolution. Anyone have any ideas?

Here's the link to the BF2 tweaks guide it shows you how to modify the BF2 target to get to the desired resolution, aswell as other tweaks to ikmprove performace on lower end GFX.

The native display resolution of 1680 x 1050 is achievable in both BF2 and BF2142, however they don't natively support it in the in-game settings. . . if you want this resolution, use the modifications to the shortcut that are detailed in the widescreengamers website, but don't try changing the video settings in-game after that. I'm using a modified BF2142 shortcut to get my 1680x1050 resolution but it doesn't show that way in the video control panel within the game.

For modern LCD's it is better to use the native resolution. Whenever you use a resolution other than native, you are forcing a scaling of the image, which reduces performance.

Happy widescreen gaming!!

What everyone else said. This is basically it:

"C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\BF2.exe" +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +szx 1680 +szy 1050

What is in bold is what you add.
