XP Update Failed - Not SP2

Thanks for the reply...did that this morning and it reinstalled it
correctly this time.
But at log on this morning before I had a chance to uninstall/reinstall
my log on had changed just the welcome screen no option was presented
which was the case when I last logged on yesterday.
One of the updates yesterday must have changed something...dang it why
can't MS provide updates that make changes only to what they are trying
to fix...certainly would make life easier.
