Just bought a new in the the box Intel SE440BX-2 MB for a PIII 600 I had laying around. I install it in the new case hooked up the power, HDrives, etc and booted.

When I went into the BIOS under boot options they only had CD Rom, Hard Drive, Removable Drive, and Network.

I have tried pressing +/- with no luck. Finally, I put a floppy in on a fluke and it boot to it. I then FDisked the Hard drive and reboot. Now, the BIOS bypasses the floppy completely and I get a "No OS installed"

Any thoughts / Suggestions --

Am I crazy about the no Floppy option, is it thier and I am just missing it ??

Thanks --

I assume you have tried "removeable drive" which sometime refers to removeable media drive. If not; do so. It would be a real surprize if an old chipset like 440BX didn't have floppy disk support in bios. Great chipset by the way.

If worst comes to worst, don't worry about it. I haven't used a floppy in a little over a year and a half.
