virus and cant boot in safe mode

It appears that I have a virus, which I believe is changing the homepage of Ixplorer...when I run norton it appears as though iexplore.exe is infected.

i can't reboot in safe mode because it says that "wininit.exe failed to load" or something...and it appears that that exe is associated with a virus...

any ideas?

You can try booting to your norton CD and running virus scan, but this only works if the virus is older than the CD w/o new virus definitions. But if you can boot into normal mode download and run <A HREF="http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/10/17/10-17-21.shtml" target="_new">Spybot</A> and <A HREF="http://www.softpedia.com/public/cat/10/17/10-17-58.shtml" target="_new">Adaware</A>.
