yeah... too high!

I just borrowed Oblivion from a friend because I wanted to test out my new 8800GT and other parts on max settings and to my surprise (or dissapointment) I am rendering on FRAPS 60 FPS no less and with vsync no more.

On toms charts Oblivion on the same settings and faster rig averages in the 30's. I dont understand why i'm getting so many. Is there an setting that I missed? A patch that increased graphics quality? I set all settings to max (slider all the way to right) 8x AA, bloom on and all other settings to on or max. I couldnt find the game in my nvidia control panel to set it on max through there too and I dont know whats up with that.

Please help me get the full effect of this game!

Set HDR to on in the game (which will in turn disable AA in game) and force AA on through the drivers and give it a whirl.

Keep in mind as well that the charts are outdated with their test setup, uses older drivers, etc.

Yeah, wait until you hit the AA in the control panel, that will start to make your card hurt alittle, especially if you have HDR on. Also look for the Elder Scrolls 4, not Oblivion in Control Panel.

Right what part? If you're indoors, your frames should be 100+. If your in a grassy area, your frames can drop to 30.

Alright... so last night I dissabled AA on the in game settings and enabled HDR. Nvidia control panel I added oblivion and set AF to 16x and all other settings to high quality. I didnt mess with AA because I didnt think you could due to the in game settings not allowing you to have them both. But from what I understand from septic is that you can run AA through hardware and HDR in game? I'll try it anyway.

WEll I was running around outside during the day time and the visuals were impressive and I was getting about 40 FPS running around and 55-60 walking in a straight line. I'm going to turn up AA and see what happens but i'm satisfied with the visuals already... makes the game really worth playing.
