I accidentally discovered the following and thought I'd pass
it along. It works on XP, SE, and probably all versions of
windows for many years:
On the desktop: Drag ANY folder to the screen edge; it will
turn into a toolbar showing all the programs in it. To
remove it, grab the handle, drag it off the edge, and click
the X to close it.
Also discovered you can drag & drop to any desktop toolbar,
such as the Office bar, etc.. Handy - keeps the desktop
clutter down, plus is a neat way to separate same type apps.
