I have a friend who had win2000 installed. A clean install of XP was done
with SP1. SP2 has not been installed.
The PC has 128mb ram. The MB is MSI 6380 E and chipset kt 333. It uses the
onboard sound which is set in bios. The sound is Legacy Audio.

After installing XP Pro, there is no sound. Have check with 3 sets of known
good speakers. Rechecked bios and is set correctly. XP says it has the
latest driver but that hard to believe LOL.

Any help be greatly appreciated.

Go to the website of the motherboard manufacturer and get the latest
Windows XP sound drivers.
