The first Crysis patch is finally available, updating the game to version 1.1. A 139mb download, the patch offers bug fixes, gameplay tweaks and performance improvements for DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 rendering modes.
Fixes:
- Damage dealt to vehicles when shot by LAW has been made consistent
- F12 (screenshot) now works in restricted mode as well
- When player melees during gun raise animation, their gun will not be in a permanently raised position anymore
- Memory leaks and potential crashes
Updates:
- Improved SLI / Crossfire support and performance
- Improved overall rendering performance (DX9 and DX10) - Enabled VSync functionality in D3D10
Tweaks:
- Reduced grenade explosion radius in multiplayer
- Clamped water tessellation to avoid cheating in MP
- Reduced LAW splash damage vs. infantry in PowerStruggle mode
- Slowed Rocket projectile speed down in MP slightly
I can confirm that the patch has fixed the Crossfire problem. Could anyone suggest anything to capture my ingame FPS so ppl don't think i'm lying about getting upto 47FPS @ very high no AA 30fps avg.

Well... I think its great if someone was to go pickup the game today. I've personally completed the game about 6-7 times now and well... lets just say that I might complete the game one more time if I really force myself to do so. Bah, ok, one more time just for the eye candy lol

Hey Closed_Deal - Sweet, Sweet, Sweet pics!!! That is why I like ATI, the quality of the rendering.
I am considering the new dual chip ATI card when it is released. If it takes too long I will try to find to 3870's. Its new home will be on an Asus Maximus Formula SE w/Q6600. I see you are using an 880W PSU. I am considering a dual PSU setup. BTW I just lapped both the Q6600 and the heatsink to a mirror finish
I had high hopes for this patch, but didn't really expect it to live up to my expectations (if that makes any sense). Come to find out I am getting some noticeable improvements. I haven't benched anything yet, but things are definitely smoother. Still, Crytek has a lot of work to do before I will consider this game a finished product.
I am able to get ~20FPS on my 1440x900 LCD with all very high settings in DX10 throughout most parts of the game. There are still cases that I must resort to high to make it playable, but those are rare now. Of course I am not using FSAA.
Also, DX9 doesn't seem that much faster than DX10 anymore. Strangely enough, even though I get slightly higher framerates with DX9, DX10 "feels" smoother. Maybe it's the motion blur.
As for my comment about Crysis not being a finished product, I was referring to some of the glitches that I am still experiencing, mostly with the physics being out of whack. Things like helicopters crashing and bouncing around for like 10 minutes making all kinds of noise.
Cheers homerdog, the frames was my question, it feels unfinished to me too. I saw a burning tank once slowly spin on its side and float into the air firing wildly. Then I shot it with the rocket launcher once more and it exploded and fell back down. Plus speed boats picking you out from a mile off is a bit cack and throwing grenades is seemingly impossible to do sneakily, even to a group of soldiers facing away from you, they seem to register it as soon as it leaves my hand. Apart from that it looks awesome and its great fun. Cheers.
I tested it in DX9 and I didn't see much improvement. Not even worth calculating a percentage increase value for your guys. However, the VSync feature is a great add-on to the patch. I'll be testing it in DX10 this weekend and see how it goes. According to Homerdog, it looks promissing...and according to others, CF and SLI performs much better now.
