Stacraft 2; It is still one of my favorite stories even thought it's not my favorite game, I want some payback on Kerrigan. Fallout 3 looks right up my alley!! And to be really honest I want to have a gaming moment where I can say WOW and forget I'm playing a game, it's been a long time....So whatever that game is.
Grand Theft Auto IV by far, that game has me creaming my pants. New Command and Conquer 3 Tib Update, Kanes Wrath or whatever the h*** its called looks hot too.(Moving sonic emmiters that can hit air, holy ****) And I dunno I'm still caught up in all the crap 2007 has given me... I've owned assassins creed for like 3 months (since it came out) and have played it like 2 hours max, no clue why, just haven't gotten to it.
I'll stick to finishing mass effect, assassins creed, and playing more TF2,C and C 3 and Halo 3 online then buying "more" new stuff.
Alan wake, it fell of the gaming radar in 2007 hopefully it won't be to much longer.
100% agreement with previous poster: Alan Wake.
Finally another attempt at a completely new storyline and concept. I am hoping for a similar effect that Max Payne brought to gaming at the time. Basically I am expecting a Max Payne like experience with free roaming and lots of physics and eye candy.
Also, I'd like to remember people about Spore again. The first hype wave was too early in my opinion, so now I'm like "what's keeping them from releasing it" but still I'd like to get my hands on it.
Sins of a Solar Empire - Some Cavedog guys, Homeworld Cataclysm, it's in beta now, but i'm going to wait.
C&C3: Kane's Wrath - As much as I'm a GDI guy, Kane is the center of the C&C universe and learning what's been going on is just, yay!
Starcraft II - Need I explain?
Far Cry 2 sounds good, but i'm holding my breath (never been too impressed by Ubi as a dev).
Fallout 3 - Never been a big fan of Fallout, but this looks, sounds good. I loved Oblivion, so i'm sure i'll love Bethesda's Fallout.
Duke Nukem Forever - A real trailer, the last one was just a teaser made in the devs' spare time (from what 3d realms said). I'm lookin for an alien toilet to park my bricks, who's first?
Crysis part 2 - I hope it doesn't have a crappy ending like the first one, I was so excited, back to the island! But sadly, the credits roll, and I start crying... (not even sure it's coming in 08, I hope so).
Star Wars: Force Unleashed looks promising. I'm also looking to see what Ghostbusters and Space Siege has to offer. But Starcraft 2... that's top on my list:
My Top 5 Most Anticipated Games of 2008:
(1) Starcraft 2
(2) Fallout 3
(3) Spore
(4) Grand Theft Auto 4
(5) Star Wars: Force Unleashed
My Top 5 Notable Upcoming Games of 2008:
(1) Mario Kart Wii
(2) Space Siege
(3) Postal III
(4) Ghostbusters
(5) FarCry 2

Well here's my list of games to look for. I'm mainly a PC shooter guy.
Confirmed sources:
-Rogue Warrior - Bethesda Studios (Release Date 11/10/08)
-Left 4 dead - Electronic Arts (Realease Date 6/18/08)
-Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - Ubi Soft (Realease Date 3/11/08)
-Alan Wake - Remedy Entertainment (Release Date 1/2/09)
-Project Offset - Release Date (1/3/09) *Really really looking foward to this one.
Uncomfirmed sources:
-Crysis's continuation...
-----------------------------------
As oppose to many people, I am not really looking foward to Far Cry 2 (release dat 3/25/08). The game looks good so far (it's got its own engine = Not using CryEngine 2) and includes all the good stuff we usually expect in a game in this genre. I can already see a bigger disapointment than the one people got from Crysis (except for the performance issues).

Yeah alan wake, I check the net time to time to see if theres any progress/news but nope nothing. Read somewhere it was voted as being the most likely to be cancelled game of 2008

Pretty much the same as Stemnin w/ Starcraft II being at the top of the list.
hopefully its gonna be another golden age for peace on earth, finance & gaming
I doubt it, gas is suppost to get to 5$/gallon in the US, or 1.50$/litre here (5.7$/usg) in Canada by this summer.. that means alot of angry mobs walking through the drive thrus of mcdo's..

Try 1 pound per litre here in the uk. Now thats high.
Starcraft II and Fallout 3 certainly but I've still got a ton of games from last year to get through so I'm looking forward to 2008 being a really slow year so I can catch up.
Im looking for a game thats free and makes you a multimillionair without breaking any laws lol.... I dont know Assassin's creed will be out here this month looks good and sounds good i wanted to buy this last year and its what i was looking forward to... As for the future, IDK!!!..
I take none of you are looking forward to another Sims 2 expansion, lol. Despite how a lot of us feel about The Sims, that and Wow have been the most popular franchises on the PC for several years now.
Anyone read PcZone UK? One of the writers has made a bold prediction that Edios will announce Thief 4 by the end of year at the latest. If this turns out to be true any woes of Alan Wake being delayed again will be short lived.
Hmm... Though pretty much all of them have been mentioned:
StarCraft II - That's IF this gets released this year. To date, nothing has managed to surpass the original StarCraft for a RTS game; loads of great RTT games like Company of Heroes, World in Conflict, and Medieval 2: Total War... But no RTS games. Let's hope the art improves a bit, (too many WarCraft-esque rounded lines; should be harsher) but everything else looks great.
Fallout 3 - The original games were known for their legendary atmosphere, as well as their horribly flawed combat systems. If the new combat system works out well, then it could be quite a superb game overall.
Super Smash Bros.: Brawl - This has been the only console game I've been eagerly awaiting since... Well, discounting Perfect Dark Zero (which annoyed me in how much suck it was made of) it would likely be Ocarina of Time.
Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots - Though I won't be touching a PS3 anytime soon, I guess I'll count this as I'd like to see it once it is (not if) ported to other systems. Plus, this gives my list something that others haven't mentioned yet.

Totally different type of game. Think Morrowind or Oblivion style instead of a turn based tactical combat system.
He might have been referring to the leveling system, which is coming over pretty closely. I never had a problem with it, in fact I was thrilled when I found out they were keeping SPECIAL.

Not even sure what you're getting at. Trust me, I'm rather familiar with the workings of the combat systems in the first two Fallout games, the Elder Scrolls games, (here's where I'd get the jump on you and say "Daggerfall" ) and the combat system in Fallout 3. I'm quite aware that F3's system is quite different from F/F2's. Though from the looks of it, it may very well incorporate more "tactics" than Fallout's combat ever did... (which, in the end, was actually none )
What he is getting at is that Bethesda is developing it in a similar vein to Oblivion except that they are using the SPECIAL system for leveling instead of the crappy leveling system in Oblivion.
It is going to be 3D 3rd person one character party and heavily based on FPS like mechanics.
I'm looking forward to it, but it is going to be very VERY different playstyle wise to FO1/2.

Ah, so they're a whiner, then, as I'd thought. A bit ironic that they directed that reply to me, of all people.

I wouldn't say "heavily" based upon FPS mechanics. Especially when I've noticed that of the screenshots available online, all of the combat ones are either in VATS, or are actually THIRD-person. And of course, that the rest of the game doesn't hinge on the combat.
I'm looking forward to it, but it is going to be very VERY different playstyle wise to FO1/2.
Well, the combat is, and I honest can say that it's not a BAD thing, given that Fallout was a game that had a claim to having the worst combat in any RPG.
it looks like it's cucumber time the first months of this year
most of the games that are candidates to look out for aren't coming in like next month or two or am I wrong

It's going to take me a while to play the games that came the end of 2007. Within a couple months I bought the Orange Box, Crysis, COD4, Bioshock, MOH Airborne, and TombRaider: Anniversary yet can't get through the single player campaigns on the last Four mentioned because I have limited time and can't stop playing TF2.
BTW, Order will be COD4, Last bit of Airborne, Bioshock then TR:A.

I am curious about the newest games about Aliens. Obsidian is supposedly developing an RPG and some other company an FPS game set in the world of Aliens. I guess those games might be released only in 2009, though.
I figure it's time for me to weigh in, especially since Ben wants to do a video on this very subject.
Fallout 3 -- I loved Fallout, but the combat system sucked. From what I've seen of Fallout 3 so far, combat won't be a problem.
StarCraft II -- probably tied with the above title for tops on my list. Looking forward to some good RTS gameplay, but I also can't wait to see where the story goes and what the Queen of Blades will do next.
Alan Wake -- because I need something different, and this one looks like the kind of creepy, atmospheric story-driven thriller I can enjoy (though it's Vista only, guys, so get ready).
Star Wars: The Force Unleashed -- because I always wanted to be a badass and wreak havoc with the Force. Yeah, I know it sucks that there's no PC version, but that's the new reality, I suppose.
Brutal Legend -- because you can't get more original than throwing Jack Black, Lemmy Kilmister, Rob Halford and Ronnie James Dio into a game about a heavy metal roadie fighting demons in a Nordic fantasy world. In Tim Schafer I trust...
Zero percent chance Resident Evil 5 comes out this year, by the way. And I have extreme doubts about Spore hitting the mark as well.
