I've just recently built 2 PCs using this mb but on both of them the primary ide slot won't recognize any drives. I've tried it with CD-Roms, cd-rws and hdds and changed the ide cables but it won't detect them despite the fact that they work in ide2.
Is there anyway to fix this or will I need to replace the board?

You mean the jumpers on the back of the drive?
The hdd is set to master.
