Does anyone here play UT3? Since upgrading, I've been oogling at the graphics and sort of neglected UT3, but after a couple of matches, it's ridiculously frantic and fun

I've played the demo and it's every bit as fun as its previous incarnations. My only criticism is that I didn't fell they had moved the game forward enough and wasn't that much differant from UT2K4.

Same here. I tried the demo and had a blast trying the game. I'd have to say that I am more of a coop genre of player and found that UT3 has this deathmatch experience (even when player team vs team). I also found the level or maps were too small compared to the Battlefield series and similar games. I bought other games as they seemed more interesting.

I'm a more realistic shooter kinda guy, like CoD, Rainbow Six, CS, etc. I actually didn't play ut2k3 or ut2k4 at all, so I haven't played ut since the original. I guess it's just a really refreshing blast from the past, you guys should play ctf, i don't like warfare, and deathmatch gets boring fast
Well I hope UnrealED 3 isent to hard. I tryed to make a map UT99 and to my suprise it was very much fun. Making a room and then walking around in it was like playing god!
Same type of feeling as with Sim City, sim golf and those other building programs i guess.
It's the smart tricks thats hard to learn. There are tricks to make the map easier for the hardware to run and such stuff thats a bit tricky.
Unrealed3 has changed a bit, but if you're used the 2k4 version, it's pretty easy to pick up. The gameplay is a lot of fun. They've dialed down a lot of the movement they built up in 2k3 and 2k4 and pushed it back towards a more UT99 feel. It's much less floaty. However you can still perform some good wall dodge combos to say pull a flag out of the base, or to grab a vehicle.
If you're a noob to the game, you'll probably get owned, at least for a while. The only players I've seen online on a semi-regular basis are old time players of 99 and 2k4. If you're in Europe the online UT3 scene is much stronger than it is here in the states. The active servers here are fun though, and hopefully things will pick up.
yeah i'm still getting destroyed online, i had to move the sensitivity up a lot from what i'm used to since i just can't keep up if i keep it on my usual settings, its hard as hell to aim though
