I have been doing research on motherboards. I am so under a debate to which AMD board I should get. The KT400 seems good but the nforce 2 seems like it's less problematic. So am wondering if anyone has any idea to what board should I purchase?

Definitly nForce2
But if you want KT400, GA-7VAXP is the best choice while being cheap too.

i would say nforce 2 but then people in the cpu section are saying that the kt400 borads unlock the multiplier on t'breds which is a plus.but then the nforce 2 is said to be generally more stable and just better overall so it depends what you're after.

no matter how hard you try, you can't polish a turd. :]

nForce2. Not only do you get a better quality chipset, but better quality drivers and a great sound system as well.

Since the original nForce had bad overclocking reputation, I wonder if the nForce2 is going to be the same?
After all nForce2 is only an impovement to nForce not a totally different design.

I was talking to a guy who claimed he's gone to 198MHz bus speed on his nForce2, which would be DDR 396, and that his memory won't allow him to go higher (I think he was using the 4:5 ratio with PC3500).

Woot, impressive! I assume he was using A7N8X right?
What CAS was he running the memory on?

Even if KT400 gives better overclocking, I'd still prefer nForce2 cuz the Dual-Channal really gives the boost!
I wonder which one will win when KT400A is released.
Both KT400A and nForce2 contains Dual-Channal memory.

I can't remember the specs on his memory because I was talking to someone else at the time.

yeah nforce2. its really a much better performer

the KT400 is just as fast as the KT333 chipset. thats not a bad thing because the KT333 chipset is freakin nice for that memory speed, but youd expect more from a chipset that runs at a higher memory speed dont yu think

What's the difference between KT333CE and KT333CD?
It's really annoying!
