hey y'all! I recently got a graphics card for my new vista computer, along with some demoes and a call of duty game from a friend.

the demoes work flawlessly, playing in max resolution and everything else topped out.

however......when I pop in the call of duty dvd, it wont even load.

is this because im running vista?? or is there more to it?

is it the COD 1 ? that game is old, and my experience with vista is, when you want to install old software, it doesn't intall on vista. but what is the problem? the dvd drive doesn't read it, or the installation just fails? the game is to old i guess. try to find a patch or something

I have 100% working answer, I faced this issue before. The game copyright protection requires you to have the "Disc One" inserted in order to run the game. This protection in not copatible with Windows Vista and in order to play your game, you MUST overwrite executable CODSP.EXE with "no-cd" crack which is downloadable and easy to find. Without the crack it is impossible to play even your leagal and licensed copy of COD. I perceive this incident as a bright example of how producers code their products copyright protection in such a manner preventing the end users from using this production. That is reaaly weird and therefore I always use no cd cracks for all my games. This protection is even more funny because if I want to own something, I will BUY the product, but if I think that it is not worth buying, I will use the pirated copy. The choice of using or not using legally licensed software is determined not only by laws but by your personal attitude and the relationship between the intellectual worth of these products to you and your price to budget.
