Question About Cars AND Technology

I guess I should ask this at a Nissan forum, but thought I'd ask here, since I'm new.

I have a 2007 Nissan Versa SL, which has the keyless entry system. You know the kind- if you have the key in your pocket, you can simply touch a button on the door, and it magically opens. Additionally, you can start the car without putting the key in the ignition.

Over the last few months, something started failing. I'd go to the car in the morning, touch the handle with the key in my pocket and nothing would happen. I'd have to use the key for both the door and the ignition. After driving a while, I could go into a store or something, come back, and the keyless worked again.

I thought the battery may be the problem, but I have a backup that is never used, which gives me the same problem.

Over the last week, it simply stopped working all together. I have to use the key at all times.

So my question is: what's the problem?

Thanks!

Probably the sensor that picks up the signal from the wireless remote is shot. I haven't the slightest clue of where it is at on Nissan's, but depending on the job and money involved, I'd bring it into the nearest Nissan garage and see what they want to fix it.
