I have a MSI KT4V and a Corsair PC3500 DDR435 dimm. is it just this motherboard, or can you not set any motherboard to 200mhz FSB independently of the memory clock?

If I set the FSB to 133 the memory goes to 200 (400ddr). BUT if I set the fsb to any faster, sutch as 166, it drops the memory down to 166 and they are syncronus. the only way to get it to go faster is raise the FSB which limits me to around 175.

Is there a MB that I can set the FSB and memory clock independently?
If I run at 133 and ddr400 the speed is slower than pc2100. the only way to get it up is to raise the fsb, which id like to have both at 200+ mhz.

I have unlocked the cpu so thats not an issue, as I know I can run at 1600 and higher mhz. any ideas?

Note:
I am currently running:
AthlonXP 1700+ unlocked, running at 1550Mhz (capable of 1666)
Memory/FSB @ 172Mhz
Sandra result = 2510 MBPS

Is this good, or should I shoot for higher?

I'm sorry, that I won't answer your question. Instead I have one for you. How did you unblocked the processor multiplier? Can you post exact links to some web pages with information how to do it? I just don't have enough time to search through all the garbage to find something usefull. :(
Cheers

I found the info on tomshardware.com theres even a video. the hardest part is finding the conductive solution, its very difficut to locate any. I was able to get a rear windshield defroster repair kit at a car store that worked. i had to go to 2 stores before I found one that had the kit tho.

But can someone answer my question? are there any motherboards that I can run the FSB and ram independently? I cant believe I am the only one having this problem.

I'd copy your post and put it on the overclocking message board instead. You should get better results there.
